Scores of IT (information technology)  professionals, working in Pune’s Hinjewadi IT park, are in a fix over how to exercise their right to vote.

Many employers are violating the legal provision and have denied employees a paid holiday on election day. As a result the Forum of IT Employees (FITE) has approached Nikhil Walke, labour commissioner Pune, to intervene in the matter.
In a memorandum submitted to Walke on April 5, FITE stated that many IT companies are not allowing employees to take paid leave and exercise their constitutional right. FITE demanded that companies should take the decision to close operations on the day of election and immediately issue circular regarding the same.

FITE also stated that as per section 135 B of the Representation of the People Act, every person employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking or any other establishment is entitled to vote at an election to the house of the people or the legislative assembly of the state and no wages should be deducted of any such person for granting this holiday. If any employer contravenes the provisions given in this section then such employer shall be punishable with fine.

FITE has also submitted a list of IT companies in Pune who are denying employees paid leave. Pavanjith Mane, president, FITE Maharashtra said, “We have received a lot of complaints from IT employees in the past four days and hence, we have written to the labour commissioner.”

Elavarasan Raja, general secretary, FITE Maharashtra, said, “The issue is not only in Pune. We have received complaints from IT employees in Maharashtra, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai. It is the responsibility of employers to let employees exercise their right to vote.”

How To Check Voter List
With digitisation, the Election Commission of India has begun the process of digitising the electoral rolls based on constituency. Voter list searches are now web-enabled, making it easier for electoral officers as well as individual voters to check if their names have been included on the voter’s list for the constituency they fall under.

All records concerning the electoral rolls are now available online, making it easier for individuals to locate their name in the electoral roll or check if their name has been updated in the rolls in the case of new voters.

Voters can log on to the National Voter’s Service Portal (NVSP) and check for details regarding the inclusion of their name in the voter’s list.

The NVSP has made a provision for individuals to check if their names have been included in three ways, as detailed below:

Search by EPIC/Voter ID in Election Voter List -
This search option allows individuals who have registered for an EPIC/voter ID card to check for their name in the electoral roll by entering their voter ID card number. If the card is logged in the database, the individual’s particulars will be displayed on screen.

Search Name in Voter List -
Individuals can also choose to locate their name in the voter’s list by searching using their name. This could be a bit difficult, though, as the individual has to ensure that the name as mentioned in the voter ID card is entered in the search. This includes any abbreviations or the maiden name, if the same has not been updated in the electoral records. On entering the name, a list of all eligible voters with that name in the district and constituency will be displayed on screen.

Search your name in Electoral Roll by area/locality -
This search can be done if an individual wishes to check if their name is included in the voter list for a particular area or constituency. This is particularly useful for those who have applied for a change of address in their Voter ID Card. The individual will have to select the district and locality as mentioned in the drop-down menu, after which a list of all eligible voters currently on the rolls will be displayed. The individual can then look through to list to locate his/her name.

Individuals who wish to check if their names have been included in the voter’s list or those who wish to check any details pertaining to their Voter ID card can do so by following the steps outlined below:

Visit the National Voter’s Service Portal, the official website for all voter-related information run by the Election Commission of India.
Select the ‘Search Your Name in Electoral Roll’ option from among those provided.
Pick from the search options available (and listed above) and enter the details accordingly.
The results will be displayed on screen depending on the information being available in the database.

Here are some Prepared charts which are very useful for the persons which may be appointed for the election duty.
It is remarkable, be that as it may, that Henry VII of England, the child of a Welshman, may have been affected in his support of the early American pilgrims by this legend of Madoc, as it is realized that he utilized one Guttyn Owen, a Welsh historiographer, to draw up his fatherly family, and that this equivalent Guttyn incorporated the story in his works. Such legends as those identifying with Atlantis and Antilia barely fall inside the extent of American fantasy, as they without a doubt identify with early correspondence with the Canaries and Azores.
American Myths of the Discovery
In any case, what were the theories of the Red Men on the opposite side of the Atlantic? Were there no bits of gossip there, no legends of an Eastern world? Quickly before the revelation there was in America a broadly dispersed conviction that at a moderately remote period outsiders from the east had visited American soil, in the long run coming back to their very own homes the Land of Sunrise. Such, for instance, was the Mexican legend of Quetzalcoatl, to which we will return later in its all the more basically legendary association. He arrived with a few allies at Vera Cruz, and quickly conveyed to shoulder the intensity of an edifying office upon local conclusion. In the old Mexican pinturas, or works of art, he is spoken to as being habited in a long dark outfit, bordered with white crosses. In the wake of visiting with the Mexicans for various years, amid which time

LOKSABHA CHUTNI 2019 P1 TO P4 BHATHTHA MA VADHARO THAYO.

An election is a formal group decision-making process by which a population chooses an individual to hold public office.Elections have been the usual mechanism by which modern representative democracy has operated since the 17th century. Elections may fill offices in the legislature, sometimes in the executive and judiciary, and for regional and local government. This process is also used in many other private and business organizations, from clubs to voluntary associations and corporations.

The universal use of elections as a tool for selecting representatives in modern representative democracies is in contrast with the practice in the democratic archetype, ancient Athens, where the Elections were not used were considered an oligarchic institution and most political offices were filled using sortition, also known as allotment, by which officeholders were chosen by lot.
